Highlights

Maple Bay // Best Airbnb we've ever stayed in - an over the water boat house with stunning views of the water and mountains. It came with kayaks that you could take out and dock at restaurants within the bay. Also, an adorable town with delicious food and marinas.

Saison Market Vineyard // Beautiful vineyard with delicious breakfast and french pastries. 

Tofino Beach Walks // Gorgeous Pacific Ocean beaches that are great for walking. We especially loved Long Beach and Tonquin Beach.

Buenos Aires // Wine, nightlife, wine, steak, wine, Italian food, wine...Exploring and shopping in Palermo. Midnight dinners. Afternoon walks through Recoleta. 

Ushuaia // Southern most city in the world! Hiking to the Chilean border and hanging out with penguins. 

El Calafate // Hiking across the Perito Moreno Glacier. Ricky Martin concert. Delicious food - Isabel and Cambalache. 

El Chaltén  // Perfect little town surrounded by the Southern Andes - this is where you see Mt. Fitz Roy. Access to hiking from the center of town. Staying at a cattle ranch called La Quinta.

Kaanapali // Sleeping with the waves. Coconut and macadamia nut pancakes. Fresh ahi poke from Fish Market Maui. Lahaina Pali Trail.

Road to Hana // Waterfalls and coconut ice cream. Huli huli chicken. Red and black sand. Bamboo forest. Early morning drive back west - having the road to ourselves.

Haleakalā National Park // Camping at 8,000 ft. The last sunrise of 2014. Standing above the cloud line. Nene spotting. So many stars!

Barcelona // Paella and walking along Barceloneta. Tapas at Las Fernandez.. Moped ride through the city an tour of Camp Nou (Jason only). Views, architecutre, and flowers at Parque Guell. Shopping at the Zara's flagship store (Anna only).

Frigiliana // white streets. White building, White walls. And the blue Mediterranean

Ronda // Oldest plaza del toros. The gorge and view of the Puente Nuevo. Old Neolithic architecture and Moorish influences. 

Cádiz // This is what I picture Havana looking like. Colorful buildings. The walled city. Long walks along the Atlantic Ocean. 

Seville //  The most beautiful afternoon of our trip. Walking through the Jewish Quarter. The colorful patterns of Plaza de España. Spring flowers - everywhere.

Driving through the Sierra de Almijara. Eating tapas along the road. Talking to goats.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Seattle to Bend, OR (6 hr drive)
 -We stayed in this AirBnB. Great price and right on the river - so pretty. Also, walking distance to everything.
Day 2: Bend, OR
Day 3: Bend, OR to Florence, OR (4 hour drive) - The Dunes National Recreation Area is there which is really cool. Huge hills of sand dunes (like being in a desert in the middle east). There are recreational options like ATVing which look fun but we just spent a few hours walking through them).
Day 4: Florence, OR to Crescent City, CA (northern part of Redwood Forest - 4 hour drive along the coast)
Day 5: Redwood Forest
Day 6: Redwood Forest to Crater Lake
-They have awesome cabins here but you have to book well ahead of time so I would look now. The only other option is camping - all the other hotels are about an hour away.
Day 7: Crater Lake to Cannon Beach
Day 8: Cannon Beach
- We stayed at the Inn on Cannon Beach - so lovely. It's across the street from the beach with Haystack Rock but you have to drive a few minutes to the downtown area.
Day 9: Cannon Beach to Seattle

Kenai Fjord Tour // Saw a pod of 12 humpack whales and a baby orca breaching the surface. Visited Holgate Glacier.
